The Centre of Excellence aims to contribute to research, dissemination, expertise and teaching in the field of M&E in Tanzania and beyond, by offering:

  • a two-year intensive Master of Science degree in Health Monitoring and Evaluation;
  • intensive week-long short courses building capacity in The Use of M&E for Quality and Programme Improvement in the Health Sector as well as Data Management and Analysis in the Health Sector; and an annual conference in applied health monitoring and evaluation, the first of which was  held in 2017.

Centre of Excellence Short Courses

The first short course offered by the CoE, The Use of M&E for Quality and Programme Improvement in the Health Sector, was held in September 2015. This highly successful course will be offered again in June 2017 for the fourth time. This year the CoE has also launched a brand new, week-long short course in Sept 2017, titled Data Management and Analysis in the Health Sector.
